House System

All students and teachers at Senn-Thomas Middle School belong to a house.  Each of the five houses are made up of students from all three grades, so they each have 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.  The houses, named after members of the Blackcat Hall of Fame, are transitioning into student led organizations.  They compete to for best attendance or other fun activities.  Student leaders choose their own speakers during house days and organize activities.  Studies have shown that when students have a vested interest in one another, it changes the culture to include more acts of kindness and tolerance.
